Fenugreek is a legume similar to Alfalfa (Lucerne).
It is used for various ailments such as Anhydrosis, Gut ulceration, Sinusitis, Allergic rhinitis, Liver tonic and also as an excellent appetite stimulant for fussy eaters, or horses that are off their food, following illness or surgery. Its also an excellent supplement for lactating mares in getting them to let their milk down.
High in Vitamins E, A, and D, Lecithin, choline. High in Lysine and L-Tryptophan and phytosterols .Very similar in composition to Cod Liver Oil.
You can use the powdered seeds or seeds softened in water, added to feed. Half a metric cup (1 cup is 250mls) dry measure per day for an average sized horse (450kg)
CONTRAINDICATIONS. Not to be given to pregnant mares or mares with hormonal imbalances due to its oestrogen type compunds.
